I’ve Been Lucky So Far
I know it’s been a while since i’ve posted but I have been extremely busy at work. I am one of the lucky ones though as many of my co-workers were sent packing to the unemployment line over the last few month due to the down turn in the economy. While I am greatful to still have a job Its still like walking on pins and needles here as you never know when the next round of cuts is going to come or which departments will be impacted. Most all of the contractor staff has been eliminated and their roles are slowly being transitioned to the rest of us that remain. This has created a lot of confusion and frustration for the end users as the IT staff has been thinned out so much. Many of the services we used to offer we just dont have time to do anylonger which is leaving users on their own for many of the basic computer user problems that you experience in your everyday life. Users are left to find solutions on their own or stand in line until someone is free to work with them. Our major focus is just keeping up the the mission critical servers, applications and network equipment that keeps the business going from day to day.
