Birthday Suprise – Grandpa’s Pocket Watch
Was I ever suprised to get the mail today. I have a Brithday coming up this weekend and it just so happens I had a gift arrive in the mail. I couldn’t believe it when I opened the box and saw my Grandpa’s Antique pocket watch staring back at me. I’ve loved this watch since I was a little kid. I always remember my grandpa carrying this sterling silver pocket watch on a fancy chain attached to his overalls. He used to let me take the watch out and look at it occasionally but always under his supervision. The most amazing part about this is that when my Grandpa had passed away, I looked everywhere for it. To my suprise my Grandmother had tucked the beautiful pocket watch away for safe keeping. One of my cousins had been visiting my Grandmother this past week and had mentioned how I had always cherished my Granpa’s pocket watch. This must have been what led her to send it to me. It’s not an overly expensive silver pocket watch but it is priceless to me just for the memories it brings.
